Reckoning with Regeneration

Regenerative Agriculture: what does it actually mean, in theory, in practise, to different groups? And what would its adoption mean for the future of food and farming?

We are pleased to launch a suite of publications around regenerative agriculture, produced by the Regen Ag Sprint team which brought together TABLE, The Food Foundation, and Green Alliance. Four reports have been published. They cover:

  • four versions of regenerative agriculture
  • a just food system
  • the future of food and the 25-year farming roadmap
  • food security, nutrition, and diet goals
  • greenwashing and power dynamics

Authors include: Tara Garnett, Ruth Mattock, Richard K., John Lynch, Tamsin Blaxter, Matilda Dunn, Ph.D, Alice E. and Rebecca Tobi RNutr. With thanks to TABLE Communications Manager Jacquelyn Turner. Thanks to Environmental Change Institute (ECI), University of Oxford and Oxford Martin School for their support.

Agile will be at the Oxford Real Farming Conference in central Oxford, 8th-9th January 2026, co-hosting a stall with AgriHub and other food programmes at the University of Oxford. Come find us to talk to Sprint researcher Richard Kipling about regenerative agriculture, and to research fellow Dr Jennifer Dodsworth about her work bridging the gap between the farming community and government.
